I'm in the market for a new turbo to replace the stock turbo, and would appreciate all the input from you guy's I can get.

I can't afford the twins, so don't even go there. We bought a new 5th wheel and I will be towing a bit heavy.

Thanks in advance!

I have the HTT 62/13 Stainless and like it. Spool is good, and does a good job a cooling. I have not towed anything significant with it yet on any Smarty setting other then 1. I have towed ~3K lbs on 7 and never hit any EGT problems. Mine has the smaller wheel (67 mm I think), not the 71.

Joe D. was raveing about the 13 stainless housing that it worked really well. A 62 compressor seems to be popular for towing. Check out the high tech turbo website.

I also have a HTT turbo on my truck. They are a great company and they can help you on the correct turbo for your needs. I run the 62/65/13ss, the spool up is same as stock even with my chips turned off. The truck pulls alot harder than the stock turbo. My max EGT only droped about 100-150, but over all I am happy with the turbo. I do not tow with my truck and could of went with a lager turbo.

Htt or Industrial Injection. Give them a call with your trucks info ie...

For towing any of the 62's with a 65 exhaust wheel are going to be the best bet. They will spool quick with low egts. Don't let the small size fool you. Considering a stocker is a 57, it is a huge jump in performance as well. My factory clutch held fine with the smarty until my htt62/12 was installed, then had to upgrade the clutch.

I have the BD Super B Special which is a 62 as well and is great for towing my 30' 5er

P. S. If your fulltime RVing brings you to Northern Calif. you can take mine for a test drive with your RV hooked up and see how you like it.

I called HTT today and talked with them. They suggested the HTB2 62/13ss, until I told them I had an exhaut brake. They said I would need the 62/12instead.
