I have 182,000 miles on the truck listed below. The mileage discount is only $2,200. 00 accoring to Edmunds for clean condition. My truck looks way above average for a 3 year old truck, let alone one with nearly 200K.

I have checked with KBB and Edmunds and they seem to be off quite a bit.

Edmund gives a private party of nearly $26K and a trade of over $23K.

KBB lists a private party of $22K and a trade of $18. 5.

Thats a discrepancy of 25%. What should I be looking for. I would like to have my identical truck back as a replacement with a lot less miles.

We have 3 magazines here that I use to value trucks... . Nickle Nicks, Wheels Deals and I don't know the name of the 3rd off hand... . I look at KBB and those 3 magazines and between those come up with what I think is a good value... . I look at selling a truck in the same light as if I was buying that truck... If I'd pay that for the trucks I'd sell it for that... . I price the truck usually 1500 to 1800 higher than my buy sell price... and go from there... . if someone wants to beat me down 500 or 1000 I might let them do that... Usually if I'm offered a 1000 or so less than my asking price I just say, show me the cash now, and we've got a deal... if we have to wait more than 24 hours to finish this deal... than its no deal and I want my asking price... .

I can't count how many I've bought and used and later sold... . most of my stuff is worn and worked hard... so my asking price is usually 3 to 4 grand cheaper than the same truck with low mileage... . Hope this helps...

I know the bank my truck is financed though uses NADA. They won't give a loan if the asking price is much over NADA.

Around here, I usually take the KBB value... private party side and can usually expect to recieve around 70-80% of that figure. Exception being when o bought my '93 a few months back, those seem to defy what the books say! :D

KBB lists mine at $22,xxx with 40k less miles. I went for "good" condition rather than excellent. Don't know how accurate that is, just thrown ya the info.
