I just got done swapping out my nozzles with some jammer stage two nozzles and the thing is ideling pretty rough. Me along with two of my wyotech instructors did the swap and they are sure we did everything right and we set the all the valves as well. I unhooked my box and it still does the same thing plus it blows some serious black smoke just by itself. My instructors were saying the way that it sounded to them is that it was overfueling, but please keep in mind they havent had much experience with bombing engines, just repairing them. From how much smoke I saw and what my instructors were saying, Im almost thinking that maybe I got bigger nozzles than what was suppose to be in the box I got. We also saw no signs of any leaking injectors. Does anybody have any ideas as to why my truck still misses so bad?

When you took the old nozzles off you didnt sheer the pins or get a chunk of carbon in one, and you torked to the right specs. I haved learned the hardway before that you get what you pay for with injectors.

If you are talking about the intermittent romp romp idle thing (sounds like a gasser with a big cam), mine did that with large DD honed injectors. Smooth as glass with my mach 4. 5 don M's.

I didnt get them pop tested because I didnt have access to one and I had heard of people not doing it and having no problems. Knowing my luck thats probably the case. I did torque them down right and Im pretty sure that I didnt get them clogged up with carbon but if I did will some fuel treatment help?

columbus diesel pop tests them for nothin... and im sure theres a injection shop near u... that would do the same. not to break the bad news. . pull-em out and getem checked . .

i think i may be in the same boat here but with a slightly different issue. my jammer 3s have been running good, smoking pretty good when i get on it especially with my TST3 turned up and stuff but running good for the most part, but now i am getting the rough idle issue, think this may be the same case?? i think i will be getting them pop tested anyway.

So will it hurt anything to run them like they are untill I can get them pop tested

When they don't pop, they dribble. Results in oil/fuel dillution and increased upper cylinder wear due to lack of lubrication.

Get them tested! :D

Mine did the same thing found out it was just the ECM getting used to the bigger injectors, one good long trip will most likely straighten them out. I put about 4000 miles on mine and they got smooth.

Ok today on my way to class my truck started up and was ideling rough like it has the last two days, but a couple of minutes down the road it just all of a sudden smoothed out and was like this for over half the trip(about 10 min) and then when I came to a stop light just a couple of minutes away from my school it just started idleling rough again about five seconds after I came to a complete stop. Did the same thing on the way home. Is this still a sign of them needing to be pop tested or could it be something else.
