Sounds like they just wired the cigarette lighter in series with the clutch safety switch. Pretty easy to do if you can cut and splice some wires (and modify the end of the lighter itself so it doesn't have such a high resistance - maybe fill the coil with solder). Better to just hide a switch somewhere. I know of people who would mount a reed switch behind the dash, and use a magnet to activate it. You have to know where the switch is mounted - nothing is visible from the outside.If you had a 6 speed I have heard of guys hooking something up to the cigarette lighter which makes it so that it must be depressed along with the clutch pedal in order to start the truck, I wish I knew how to do that.
