HELP! Need info 2004.5 vs 2005

I know this has probably been discussed numerous times and I apologize upfront if this is a repetitive question. I tried to get my answer(s) from the search function with no success.



I have not followed the 3G trucks all that closely and to make a long story short am seriously considering a new 2004. 5 or 2005 and have several questions.



Can I still order a 2004. 5?

What changes on the 2005 vs 2004. 5

Does the 2005 come with the EGR valve and if so, what do we know about it?

You cannot order an 04. 5, but they are available on the dealer's lots.



The 04. 5 changes were HP / Torque from 305/555 to 325/600 (thus the Cummins 600 name). No EGR, but a CAT and 4" exhaust was added. Also, a third injection event to help with emmissions.



Word is that EGR will not be required till 2007. I have not heard of any engine changes for 2005. The only significant body change for 2005 that I have heard of is the moon roof option.

I echo klenger's post. I have read where there is a problem ordering the power pedal option. There are some threads on this.

I spoke with my Salesman at Dave Smith in Kellogg ID yesterday with an inquiry for a friend, and was told that he has a lot of 2004. 5's on the lot. The $2500 Dodge rebate or 0%/36 mo financing and the Farm Bureau rebate is still good. No pricing yet on the 05's. Dave Smith has a very competative pricing policy, currently $300 below invoice minus the rebates.
