Help needed on motor info!!!!

I need help with trying to get my motor serial number on my 1993 3/4 ton pickup. The plate mounted on the right side of motor is not readable as the painted on numbers are not their anymore. I found out that I have a Cummins dealer 1 mile from where I work and wanted to get some parts and he needs that number for parts!!!! I tryed calling Dodge parts were I bought the truck new with my vin number and he said that they do not keep that number (motor ser. no. ). Tried another dealer and he said the same. The manufacture date on my motor is 3-25-93 as I can still read that. It is one of the last off the line as I had ordered it and was lucky to get it (saw the new ones in 1993 and like the old ones better) . Any help with what I can tell the guy at Cummins so he can get me the right parts.

What do you need for your engine. There are some fellows on this board that have every cummins part number memorized and can tell you the part number without any motor info. So the plate mounted to the timing cover is gone???????? Could it be cleaned and read?

The plate is still there but the infomation is painted on to the plate and the paint is chipping off. Its not dirty as I have cleaned the motor so I guess the power washer cleans to good.



Anybody have the Cummins part number for the Throttle Linkage Rod Assembly as I have the Dodge part number for this but what is the Cummins number.
