Archived Help No Oil!! 10 Min after Head Gasget

Just fired up today after a blown head gasket, due to a stuck wastgate (I think). Question is, Let it idle for no more than 10 min. trying to warm it up to re-torque studs, water temp @ 150*. I put All laundry soap in cooling system for flush, cheap oil and Schafers treatment for flush. Exhaust was white and smelled the distinct smell of shafers treatment. Cheched gauges and zero oil pressure. SHUT-DOWN. Checked the stick and, nothing!!!

I think I burned the oil,from the smell of Schafers in exhaust. It's hard to tell if it's in the coolant because, it's already very slugged up. I pulled oil cooler (again), and will pressure check tomorrow.

Any input whould be GREAT. I'm at a loss right now. Thanks, Bill

Could the oil have been pumped overboard via the turbo drain line? Don't ask how I know this is possible... ... ... .



If it was burning the oil wouldn't it have "run away", I. E. , revved uncontroled because of the extra "fuel"?

Ya know, it did increase rpm,I hit the throttle and it would come back to 850.

I thought the hi idle ramp-up was due to the new SMARTY. But its not cold enough for that.

That would explain the increase in rpm,(burning crancase oil)

Where could all my oil of gone in ten minutes of ideling

There was lots of white smoke,and smelled like Schafers

Ive seen a truck burn all its oil in 15 min with a bad leaking turbo seal so cheak the turbo!!!!

Maybe the oil is sitting up in the valve cover. Thats a lott of oil to burn without massive smoke. Maybe it is also just below the stick . so maybe 5 quarts in the valve cover?
