Hi,

I am in the process of doing an NV4500 in my 1st gen and have a question about the trans... I need to remove the shifter "stub" on the top of the NV4500 trans to gain some clearance but since this is the first time I have even seen an NV4500 "in person" I am not sure what I sould remove and what I should leave... . I see 2 pair of 4 bolts: 4 at the base of the shift tower and 4 torx "screws" under a small rubber boot... which ones do I need to remove to get the stub out without springs and stuff flying all over the place?

Thanks, Rob

Thanks Deezul, I was brave and just pulled the both sets of bolts... Everything came out OK without any surprises...

To be honest I have no idea what year the trans is from - It is a reman from Blumenthal.

Must be newer than 97, to remove the shifter on mine requires rotating a collar 1/4 turn and it has a hefty spring pushing up from underneath which makes it a PITA to re-assemble, it slides over the shift lever, gotta be the hardest part of the R+R job.
