Help! OIL FIlTER

It will work till you can get a better one. I use to use them when I had my 91. Dodge had a bulletin out about them.

I need an oil filter and it looks like the only thing I can get on sunday is a fram. The dual bipass mount broke and I need a stock location filter to drive. Will the fram for this application protect they engine or is it garbage.

I've read that it's garbage. I haven't run a Fram in years.
The Napa Gold series filters are made by Wix. If you could find one of those it would probably be fine.
Or use the Fram for a day until some place else is open.
I guess it depends on how bad you need your truck.

When my truck was new I took it back to the dealer for a check-up at 1500 miles, when they opened the hood they immediately seen the fram oil filter and pulled it off and said they were junk and if I had engine failure because of it DC would not warranty my engine. Just passing on what the dealer said. I felt lucky since I had just changed my oil right before I took my truck in for there check-up.

Ted - What part broke,the part that the two filters attach to,or the piece that goes on the motor? If it was the one thats on the motor,I make a billet adaptor to replace it that will NOT break or leak.

Or you could use a Mobil 1 M1-403 . .
Autozone sells them around here.

The Frame filters are fine for short-term use. The filter paper in them has been proven to break down and actually CLOG engines rather than filter them, but this usually doesn't happen until they've been used for 7000+ miles. If you put the Fram in there and change it out at 3000 miles or so, you should be A-OK.
