Hey guys thanks for the info on the trans Im going to change it soon Im at 24000 miles now my question is the filter I want to get it from napa is the filter they sell good and will it be okay just dropping the pan and just adding the amount of fluid back into the system that the pan holds or should I try to flush the whole system. Also what is a good ATF that is not synthetic I know mopar is good but any other suggestions maybe that napa sell thanks alot for your input!!!!!!

The ATF question is simple, if you do not want to use a Universal Synthetic fluid, you only have one choice. Mopar ATF +4 is the required fluid for your transmission and it’s only sold at the dealer. List is $21 gallon. The Napa filter is fine but I prefer the older “727" style filters. You can buy them at Geno’s. I always drain the entire transmission from the cooler lines then drop the pan and replace the filter. I’m not very big on flushing, Good luck and happy holidays :)

I use and Bill K uses also Quaker State ATF+3. ATF+3 has less slip and is better for the clutch packs. ATF+4 has better bearing protection, however most Chrysler Transmissions have the clutch packs go before the bearings. I use a 15K interval between fluid changes and use the older "open" style filter. They cost less also. In my opinion, if you are the type to stay on top of your maintenance, ATF+3 will serve you very well and save you $$ to boot:) I loosen the VB in order to get as much fluid as possible drained. ( You must re-torque the VB using an in lb torque wrench)
