Holy crap!! That is pretty heavy on the front!! Did you check to see if there was a Prius stuck in the grill before you weighed??

The reason I ask is about a week ago I scaled my truck with a pretty heavy load and the front axle was only 4900lb!!

Coincidently I do own a Prius. It's my daily driver.

That's funny. We have a really nice older SUV, a Buick Rainier that has laminated windows forward and a lot of extra sound deadening over the other GM 360 chassis twins. Guess what, the new Laramie is quieter on the road, and steers better!!!! SNOKING

Yeah, my Prius is loud on the road and the seats are about as uncomfortable as any seats you've ever sat in. I call them 2-hour seats. They're fine for commuting, but on road trips we were always fidgeting around. Now that fuel prices are back under control we no longer use it for road trips. Gets great fuel economy though, only holds 3 qts of oil, tires are dirt cheap for it, most braking is done with the motors so pads are pretty much lifetime, won't have transmission issues with it. Despite first gen issues in the 90's, the hybrid batteries last the lifetime of the vehicle, unless you run out of gas and force it to deplete the battery completely trying to get to a gas station. I'll continue to pile on the miles until it dies (has 145k miles now).

This thread (before the discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of attaching a Prius to the front bumper) was pretty informative. I currently have a 2012 4x4 with 265-70R17 tires. I want to increase the load capacity to be a bit safer while towing my fiver. So... you learned gentlemen, what wheel tire combination can I go to which will still look "normal" but increase my load capacity?
