help with trailer wiring

I want to use the Reese Signature 18k slider and they are telling me it will not work with the Mega cab. They say the exhaust inteferes with the rails. Is anybody using this setup. If so how about some part numbers.

Can you drill a couple of holes in the frame to mount the rails, I think it says, Reese instructions, (2) 5/8" holes on each side. I'm gettin a little nervous thinking about drilling in the frame.

I appreciate any information.

Draw Tite & Reese are made by the same co. One owns the other, but Im not quite sure which one. My 16K Draw Tite hitch has two 5/8" holes drilled through the outside of the frame only on each side. 4 in all, They are not drilled through the complete full sides. This is a nifty installation and the weight sits on a bracket on top of frame & fastens to the outside sides of the frame members. Mine was labeled Draw Tite when I had this put on my 04. 2500 when it was new. No welding was required. This was a top rate installation that one does not have to worry about. Both the 5th wheel applications are duplicate except the load ratings of the 5th wheel.

Go with confidence as they are among the best. Note, my truck has the 8' bed and this may be a difference.

I failed to read first Bertram65's instructions & pictures. This is excellant instructions if one has the 8' bed.
