hey guys ok i hvae a ? and i have read a few fourms on here but it is about my lift pump i have a 2001 2500 with a edge with attitude a 4 inch exhuast and a k&n cold air intake but MY ? is sometime when im driving my fuel pressure alert from the edge will come on and read only 4-5 psi then if i give it a lil gas it will go back up to 11-14 psi is my fuel pump going out or what ??

also i have been looking in to the BD bypass lift pump is this a good idea, has any 1 got this set up, or what about the auxiliary pump please help!

You are not getting all the fuel to the pump... . think of it as when you suck soda though a straw when you are almost out. It makes that slurping sound and you can see the air bubbles, well its the same thing. You arent getting the fuel you need.
At minimum I would move the pump to the frame rail and get a big line kit from genos garage. I think it is a pump relocation kit or something like that. As well as add a pusher pump Or better yet get an aftermarket fuel system of some kind.

ok so what bout a bd kit

ok so what do you guys think of the BD lift pump kit? does any1 have this set up i have only had my truck about 9 months so im still new to the whole diesel scene thanks alot

I've got the Vulcan kit that they sell at Geno's and its been great, makes changing the POS lift pump a lot easier. Your pump is on its way out if you can blip the throttle and get your fuel pressure back up... .

I had a similar problem with mine where mine acted like it "sucked dry" for a second, then it kicked back in, a little puff of smoke, then no problem for a while. I just replaced mine with a lift pump straight from cummins south instead of the dealership and 50000 miles w/no problems. I think the pump was $100.
