I was driving home lastnight go pulled over. Officer says my tail lights are out lets me go. Welp get up this morning and start checking fuses no fuses are blown but still no lights and notice my cab lights and chicken lights are out too. . got headlights. As i hate to work with electrical stuff WHere shall i start or look first? any ideas or heads up? #@$%!

Considering your description, I'd look at the headlight switch first. I believe they generally have separate connections for running lights and head lights.

Well i am Driving a early 98 12 valver! i figured out the running lights as the wires have started to melt the block connection. The new problem now is my headlights keep flicking on and off and i have checked the wires the fuses on the side of the door under the hood. . still got nothing i've takin a test light and i am getting juice. . but i've bought a new light switch could this be bad? causing my headlights to keep flicking on and off?

A defective multi-function (dimmer) switch will cause the headlights to flicker. Do they flicker on high beam or just low beam?

I'm with fest3er on this one having a 96 myself and being on meltdown switch, I mean 'headlight switch', number 3.

Extra Lights

You mentioned "chicken lights" which leads me to believe you have extra lights coming out of the headlight switch.

I would remove all lights not stock and run them thru relays. These switches are marginal at best. This is not only true of dodge but the others as well.

Replace the headlight switch, remove all extra and I bet your prob will be solved.

BTW, where do you put chicken lights on a PU?. There are no outside air cleaners,

Mine had a recall years ago for this problem. Dealer installed new switch and harness with integral relay. No problem since.
