HELP! Problems after injector install

I changed my injectors yesterday and now my truck smokes @ idle, smokes horribly with any sort of throttle and has no power (it won't keep the truck at 60 mph going up a hill). I'm hoping that I'm not getting blow-by, and it doesn't seem like the head gasket is blown (wouldn't the head gasket go before the rings?) I plan on redoing the entire install tomorrow... You guys have any ideas? :{

Could you give more info about your truck, ie: what other mods have you done? What injectors did you install?

some ideas: proper seating and injector orientation, proper torque ie leaks, damaged or sticking injector, wires crossed on injector.



from the sounds of it my UNproffesional opinion says injector stuck open.



let us know what happened we dont want to scare others from trying their own installs

My truck is an '03 with 92K. I have a quad xzillaraider as my only mod.

i would bring it to a local diesel proffesional if i messed up on the 1st shot. i would not try it agian if you followed rb's link step by step and it didnt work.

Had a friend with an 03 HO go through almost the exact same thing after an injector install. Turned out a couple of connector tubes were not torqued properly. Too loose. Proper torque on all fuel system components is critical.

Problem Solved! I torqued the connector tubes to the wrong specs. Thanks for all the advice and now when my truck smokes it's just because of the 120 HP EDMs and Quad

I have joined member here because I have same problem, I have 98. 5 24valve went to local diesel service shop bought bosh high performance 95hp injectors had them install now I have much black smoke and loss of power/ I had k&n filter in stock box but changed to high performance filter not in box which seemed to help a little but still seemed to have more power before, Also have hypertech 3 programer set to stage 1 for tire hight change... what do you guys think about??
