Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) help problems

got another problem with my truck could really use some help . driven my truck this morning the truck is surging very badly the faster i go the worse it gets . i have a 2001 ctd 80 hp sticks, edge juice with att , hx 40 . the codes i have are pcu 1693 ecu 230 ,523 ,177 looked them up one is oil pressure to high other one is lift pump witch is not hooked up other is water in fuel witch is not hooked up 1693 is ecm not sure how to check this . i thought my vp 44 was going out again dent see the code though . any help would be great thanks Doug

try un-plugging the edge and see if it goes away, what is your F/P?

How long have you had the new VP? Is it possible there's a problem - I know it's not throwing codes but . . . Is the new VP a rebuild, HR or FedEx?

the new pump is a brand new stock cummins pump. unplugged edge ran very baddly would not stay running . plugged in ran great still no problems this morning . will test for a couple days and let you know . may be loose connection ? thanks alot for the input Doug

even with a new VP it still could be a bad pump,... . it has happened in the past.



when did this prob start?



it could also be a bad ECM..... had another TDR member get tons of codes and a new ECM fixed it.

So if you didn't have the edge what would you do? I'd be back where I bought it wanting another one . . . so . . . . make believe you don't have the edge. Are you getting any codes?
