OK, I think I've had that w/ my stock 35. While towing under heavy throttle and shifting into TC lockup. Loud! I imagine that when the RPM's drop, that turbo is still pumping lots of air into the engine for the higher rpm's. Then, when the rpm's drop, there is no where for that built up pressure to go so it tries to equalize. I just had to back off the throttle until it quit. Very annoying, and probably not good for anything!

I still can't believe nobody has mentioned performance with the 64. Does nobody have them? If that's the case, I may have to get one to test and report on :D

ok heres a question for you guys, if i buy this sps 62 turbo can i build my set of twins around it using someone elses turbo upgrade kit with a larger turbo??

How much power are you trying to make with a 62 in twin configuration? Why would you want to upgrade the 62 to someone else's stuff?

I'd be a 62 in twins with the right bottom charger would support 750 hp.

well what i am trying to do is build a twins configuration around 550hp and 1000tq with absolutely no egt problems or lagging problems whatsoever as i have an auto. i'd like to have off idle tq again like in my old 12v. after talking with a bunch of people i was thinking of a 62 with either a 12 or 14 and a ht3b with either a 23 or a 26. leaning more towards the 62/12 and 3b/23 any ideas or thought on what combo would be best? its a daily driver and i tow about 20% of the time when not hotrodding around town. i didnt mean upgrading the 62 just upgrading to a twin package minus a turbo since i will already have the 62.

Sps 64

i have the sps 64 and love it! rgt's dropped 2-300* towing my 30 foot cigerrett boat! boost goes up to 45-48psi then stedies out to 42psi. i think it spools better then stock. only barked it once empty when i had to back out of WOT quickly. i have not dynoed it yet. i will soon. hopefully will have some impressive numbers... . james :D

Mr. Fulmer would know better than I, but I called II and they said they were working on a twins package. They would be nuts not to as it seems 90% of the turbo threads relate to their products. Lets face it, most people that put a 66class turbo on their truck would probably prefer to do twins if it weren't for the sticker shock, and offering a twins "upgrade package" for people with a sps 62,64 or 66 would definately sell some product.

I like my sps66, but it does bark if your not careful and "I don't care what anyone says" it does not spool as fast as stock. When I say spool I mean 0psi to about 12psi, yeah the 66 goes from 12 to 50 fast enough to scare ya, and I also agree that rolling into the throttle is much better than planting your foot on the floor. Still, it seems like were all looking for stock spool (and manners) with twins cooling out of a big single. It's hard for any turbo to live up to those expectations. I am going to upgrade to II's twins when they get everything in order.

Given the various posts I have read, those towing should get a 62 or a 64 vs a 66. Why even dick around with the surge and barks while towing?

OH YEAH, Greg Long at Greatlakesdieselworks just ordered me a set of EDM injectors should have 'em in shortly after Turkey Day. Should be interesting, sort of spur of the moment, I called Greg about helping my poor stock lift pump and the next thing I know INJECTORS are on order

I honestly have not felt one bit of stumble or hesitation with the stock lift pump and my current mods. But you know that cp3 is working overtime. And yes the lift pump will get help when the sticks go in. And yes I am ashamed of the fact that I have a stock lift pump with a 66 turbo, DTT, and TST! Simply shamefull.

Heck I'll tell them or anyone else that the 66 doesn't spool as quick at a stocker from 0-10 and is just a wee bit slower than a 40..... I mean wee bit..... less than 100 rpm difference.

I do know there is not a turbo I've ever seen that will spool like it from 10 psi on or 20 psi on in Twins, scary thing is it will go to 80 just as fast in Twins. I don't know everything they are doing but they were wanting to Hybrid my B/B and that may happen, remember I'm just scratching the surface of the Twins now and need to recheck drive pressure and go from there. My Phat Shaft is 4 full turns extended on the wastegate arm from were they tested and set it so there is allot more waiting.

A guy could go from a 62/12 and a small secondary to what I have or bigger... ... there is allot of room.
