Today went to test drive a 1999 4x4 Ram with the CTD and an auto trans.
This is a 1999 Regular Cab, SLT, 4x4, 2500 Sport with only 44,000 miles on it. This truck is so perfect it isnt even funny.
This was my first time actually driving a diesel so I dont know how a perfect one operates.
The only thing I noticed that was odd is that around 65mph, it stops accelerating as hard/quickly as it did from 0-60. It gets to 70 and beyond, but it just seems to do it with not as much "umph".
Could that be a dying lift pump or is it just normal? How much does a new lift pump cost and where can I order one? I'd like to put a new one in myself if it needed one.
I spend a long time just crawling around and under this truck looking for anything and even the motor is clean (even the front/sides).
Thanks for all the help and I hope to have a CTD soon!!!!
