OK, Here's The Deal

I plan on leaving Tues AM on a 2000+ mile trip...

So today I changed the oil, etc. , etc. and drained out 3 gal of old coolant and replaced it with 3 new gal of Cummins Compleat.

Only problem is that when I closed the cheez-whiz plastic drain valve on the radiator it keeps dripping... about 1 drop every 1-2 seconds. Now, this is with the system cold/non-pressurized, so I would guess it will spit more when it's hot.

Have any of you had this problem?

If so, what's the recommended fix? All I can think of is to take it to the dealer in the AM and have them fix it. My concern is that the dealer will tell me I need a new radiator, new hoses, clamps, thermostat, and 87 gallons of Mopar antifreeze.

HELP! :{

yep doesn't ake much gunk to cause the oring to leak after that scare I have changed my antifreeze by removing the bottom hose instead. No reason to risk messing up that plastic fitting plus bottom hose drains faster:D

Either replace the oring or buy a new drain cock from Napa. It's about $4 in the Help section. Happened to me also.

wcjp - Is the Napa version the same?

Wondering if its a new better part ... replacing the whole enchilada.

thanks

Hey y'all... I went down to the Mopar dealer this AM and told the service "writer" what the problemo was. He said "Why pay me 35 bucks to do it? Just go in to the parts counter, get a new draincock and stick it in... Turn the old one open and pull it out with a pair of pliers. "

FYI ---> Mopar Part #4644269 $3. 75 :D

Thanks again guys.
