I just noticed that the over load helper springs on the passenger side are scraping the frame and the bolts that attach the over load stops. at both the front and rear of the springs where they touch the over load stops.

The spring straps have been pulled down. I thought the shocks were gone and was installing the Rancho 9000's when I found this new problem.

I also noticed that the rear end has been bouncing around a lot after hitting a bump at high way speed like a basket ball when you dribble it.

Any suggestions on what to do to repair this.

Thanks, TJ

Shocks

You are probably on the right track to resolve the problem with new shocks. I would think for the over load springs to hit the side of the bracket the main leaf on the main springs would have to be broken or the u-bolts that secure them to the axle housing loose. Also look at the spring hangers at the rear of the springs and see if they are loose or worn and the spring eye and bolt at the front end of the spring. If you can jack the truck up under the frame and take the load off the spring you may have better luck seeing if you have any slack or wear in the components. bg

I havent determined exactly what has caused this yet but it appears that the springs have shifted to the left about 1 and 1/4 inch and alloweed the rear axel to run out of line. I do think it may be u-bolt related. will post more tomarrow in the day light.

UPDATE

The U bolts were loose on the passenger side and the center bolt was also loose. Changed center bolts on all the springs and re-installed the U bolts, then installed the new Rancho 9000's and now it ride great.

I set the front on level 3 and rhe rear on level 2 for now to see how I like those settings.

Thanks, TJ
