OK - I have 213,000 and I had a huge starting problem when HOT ONLY. When cold - You hit the key - start IMMEDIATELY! When hot - you would have to crank for 10 seconds maybe 3 times to get her to start.

Put on new VP 44 - starts great EXCEPT that when warm - about 1/3 times she cranks for maybe 3/4 second - I mean I know that's not long BUT way longer than when cold and about 2/3 of the time this doesn't happen at all.

Put on a scanner and only code is the Engine Coolant Temperature sending unit - next to the thermostat. We did the check and it is in fact bad. Will rep;lace that tomorrow - but I don't see how that can at all cause this problem.....

WHAT CAN I LOOK FOR?????????

I think the coolant temp sensor can affect the timing. That may cause your starting issue.

I noticed your same problem immediately after my FASS install and my VP is fairly new. It isn't the amount of pressure in my case neither, because my old setup put out 31 psi and my FASS is set at 18 psi. I put an oil pressure sensor in to start my FASS. That works well.

Let us know if the coolant temp sensor fixes your problem please.

Thanks,

Dan
