My truck has been sitting for a couple of weeks and I noticed trans fluid on the garage floor. After some investigation I think it is coming from where the trans dipstick enters the pan, and I have read that the o-rings can allow this to happen (esp since I removed the check valve last summer) and need to be replaced. I have searched TDR but was unable to find info on how to remove the dipstick in order to do the replacement - does it just pull out?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
George

Yes, it just pulls out, AFTER you unbolt it. It has a bracket welded on it that bolts to the block or the transmission housing, I can’t remember. If I remember correctly it’s reached easily from underneath. Just follow the tube up from the bottom.

Thanks! I have the seal/boot/whatever you call it - parts search shows "Seal, oil filler" as part 52118629AB - hopefully I ordered the right part - on order and will pull the assy out and try to replace it. Appreciate the help.

Upon further inspection, and testing, I think I also have a leak coming from the trans control harness connector (above and behind the range sensor).

Anyone have the part number or where to purchase a new one? From my research I may not be able to get a stock part due to it being discontinued. Do I have to drop the VB to replace this?
