Hopped in to go to work this A. M and started on my way. She would refuse to shift into seccond by herself. However if i let off the loud pedal Quickly then back on it reaaal gently it wil shift. So on with 2-3 shift but od shift o. k. I am going to "prep her for the dealer". Now I need to know bullet prof items (T. C And VB) are goin to be needed so I can be on my merry way when she gets out on good behavier #ad
.
Keep in mind the banks, VA, 275's, are at hand here so the heavier duty the better!!

did you buy the VA from mopar muscle? i broke down and bought one from bullydog. it comes tomorrow. your transmission is fried,huh? i ordeeered the TC and VB yesterday from DTT. my transmission hasnt been the same after i put the banks and injectors on her. are ypu putting the transmission mods in yourself? did you get on the dyno sunday? what was your hp ratings? i'm going down to proven performance on saturday to get on the dyno wwwith chaz607. he is stock so i figure we will put on the new VA and see what the gains are... . i hope its worth the money...

Yep I did. DTT is gettin' a phone call tomorrow. IF and only if D/C fixes it it'l be fresh when it is tc+vb time. It seems like that error code I had (p0500) which was a lost communication with the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) right before this happened the seccond time... Kind of like going up a hill while in the throttle and someone turned off the key for a seccond, then WHAM it was on again sending a freakin shockwave down the length of the truck. Mopar helped me find the code. I wonder..... could that have been the demise of the unit? oh well guess I will find out. Pruven on saturday huh? what time? dodge is right down the road..... #ad
 
tim you know my thoughts on trans upgrade , pay no attention to what happened to me , it had nothing to do with the trans , was more the NUT #ad
behind the wheel .

i have a funny feeling i will be down there on saturday morning , would be nice to get a number with combo that propelled me into the 14's ...

remove the VA and see if it changes , adding more power will move your shift points , i should have checked them and adjusted accordingly before i left .
 
M-P-M this thang has been driving like a dream ever scince the day of the VA. if not better now she has some better drinking manners. Wouldn't you think the VA would recalibrate from the ... . Ahem... . GET GO?
I should hike on outside and disconnect the VA. Nevertheless I am ready for Bullet' ala'Proof..... or poof #ad

no tim i know what you meant , but as you increase HP the shift points move , but its usually the 2-3 shift that hangs , if i had not other things on my mind at the time i would have remembered to drive your rig and see where the shifts were before and after . seriously remove the VA , does the shift hang at light throttle or foot to the firewall ? if its firewall then its the VA , need to tweak the TV cable a bit for now , as stock shift points are around 3100 to begin with .

as far as ***** , not yet , still waiting for it to arrive . still hoping its not something deeper inside .

oh as far as bulletproof , nothing is bulletproof , if someone tells you it can't be broken , they haven't let me have a try at it #ad

DTT is the way to go. Am a dealer and installer in TX. Let the dealer straighten her out and then istall the DTT goodies. Though nothing is "bullet proof" the DTT conv/vb goes a long way. A word of caution, have your grin muscles loosened up before your first test drive after DTT install. #ad

Keep in mind the banks, VA, 275's, are at hand here so the heavier duty the better!!

Do you have the Banks otto mind in your truck,wasnt sure looking at your sig. The reason i ask is ,I was talking to the guy who installed my DTT vb & tc about the subject of shifting & he described the exact same symptoms you did about the truck suddenly shutting of for a second then coming back on again,& it turned to be the otto mind which i believe banks had a bad batch of. Ignore this message if you dont have that setup.

Tree Man I do have the ottomind however there is no connection as to where shift points are controlled by it. it only has a throttle position sensor, a Manifold air pressure reading, egt reading, and sends a signal to offset the "over boost" fuel cutoff. Tonite I am taking the VA off and starting the prep. M-P-M It hangs even in the lightest or Foot thru the firewall pushing that sport bumper off from the backside type of throttle settings. It'l shift only when the foot comes off quick to let the motor "sort of load shift" into the next gear. RAMHEAD3437 Yes i did and the dyno Does not have real numbers at all but being we use the same #s here goes. 280 H. P and when I do the math I find 660. 42 # TQ. yeah I will stop on down therelemmie know when.

The exact same thing happen to me, it was like driving one of those old slush boxes that you had to bring up to RPM and then let off the gas pedal bfore it would shift. That was at 11K miles, dealer found a piece lying on the top of the value body and put it back where it belonged, I then got my young a$$ to Bill K's and had his TC and VB installed as has been posted here time and time again, great product and great people. #ad

Is there going to be another dyno day in the near future? If this has been discussed already, forgive my ignorance. I haven't been able to check the board much lately seeings as how some punks broke into my house and stole my computer and tools last week.

I would like to get a baseline before the DTT mods.

Right now it looks like RAMHEAD3437 and CHAZ607 are going to Pruven Performance on Saturday.
Depending on other factors Mopar-muscle, TMTT, and I are trying to make it also. I was going to get my exhaust done and pick up a VA, but I will not know until Friday morning.

jacrea The milage is the same forthe both of us. I Now have 12,102. Hmmm any exact wording for your problem I. E what failed? I am about to call DTT and find out some stuff. Anyone know what shop to use in the NE? I would do it but the time factor is crucial, I chase carburator jetting arround day to day before a race and by the time I get it setup for the track that day... . wham the weather changes... . DOH! and trans adjustments are much the same way... ... you can chase 'em around for eons before its "perfected"
