Help, sluggish and no power

About 1-2k miles ago I was driving to work and my truck lost all power and sounded rough and ran a little rough. It runs enough where I can drive but with little to no hp. I limped it back home and replaced the air and fuel filter. Problem solved!



Today on my way to work 1-2k miles later its doing the same thing again. When this happens it does turn on the check engine light which I will try to get a code for.

Last Oil Change 3k Miles ago

Use - pulls a 13k 32' fifth wheel. Been on about 9 trips since last oil/fuel with 2 being in the 60 mile range, 1 in the 200 mile range and rest local. Drives to work and back one day a week unless out camping.



Do I need to change the fuel filter this often or is something else wrong? I fuel up at the Quiktrip truck stop on I-80 using the big rig pumps.

Have you drained the water in the fuel filter canister?



Could be bad fuel. The big rigs most likely have a water/fuel seperator.



I'd just drain the fuel and see if it clears up.



Then I'd top off at a different station.

Kum & Go has 2% soy diesel. Your injectors will like that extra lube.

What codes came up? I had a bad batch of fuel would plug up the filter in about 8-10 miles and the truck would just drop dead. My filters looked alot like the one you posted on 911. Fuel looked ok in your pics. Three on off and on's with the key left on on the third on cycle should give you the codes o your odometer.

Ok, thats a Fuel injector group 2 supply voltage circut. I'd start checking the harness from the ECM to the injectors. Also check the plug connections on the ECM. There was a problem with a missing seals on the plugs. Allows moisture in to the plugs and can cause all kinds of problems. Hope this helps.

What side are those plugs on? the right side on top? Blue colored? Where is the ECM at?

The ECM is on the drivers side of the engine below the fuel filter. Plugs are right there.

Another question - If I have a issue with the Fuel Injectors, would this be covered under the 100k warranty?

sure would be as long as you haven't done any performance mods... ... It's worth a try at your dealer.

No performance mods cept exhaust. Gave up and took to dealer. Hope they can fix fast as I am sposed to haul camper out on thursday
