I have a 2001 Dodge 3500 4x4 with six speed -- yesterday while pulling our trailer I would let of the throttle (at highway speeds) and it would pull "bigtime" to the right (This is not using the brakes) then when I would start to excellerate again it would pull "bigtime" to the left. I feels like only one of the rear wheels is pulling while the other rear wheel is just rolling or coasting -- It did this the entire 400 mile trip yesterday -- any advice on what is happening?

I would guess that you have a mis allignment in the front end and when your weight distributation shifts from one side or the other is determining your pull, check your tires for uneven wear, rub them with your hand, you should have no sharp edges , compare them to your back tires. also check all your stearing linkage, best way is to jack up 1 side and wiggle the tire and look for wobble then the same for the other side too:confused:

hope this helps

I had an old pickup that did just that. It turned out to be loose U-Bolts one one side of the rear axle. I didn't figure it out until the bolt holding the spring pack together sheared and allowed the axle to slide all the way back until the tire hit the back side of the wheel well.

I checked the u bolts and the drivers side was loose -- lucky that I posted on the TDR -- thank you for the help!!!
