AAARRRRGGGHHHH! I am having hell getting the stupid throttle rod loose. I finally got the piece of crap little retainer clip off but the rod won't come off the lever #ad
I've pried gently. I've pried hard. I've wiggled. I've cussed. What HAVEN'T I done? To think, all of this because when they designed the new cable they couldn't put the same type of clip on the end of it as the old one to where the replacement would just snap on #ad
#ad
and double #ad

Dan, don't know what's hanging yours up, both of mine snapped right off after removing the clip. Here is the other option, the cable is now under recall finally!!!

------------------
95' 25004X4,AT,Driftwood,Banks Stinger,Warn fender flairs and running boards(work truck)
95 3500,5 speed 3:54,BD E-brake,Driftwood,Banks&Psycotty,34,000 GCVW apple and tractor hauler(works harder truck)

Oh,well, that figures! I bet I get reimbersed. Oh well, at least I won't be going through this hell on my other '95. This is one instance when I am glad to let the dealer kill himself. I finally got the throttle rod off. I've got the new lever on and fighting the infamous spring. #ad
I finally gave up until tomorrow. Any secret trick to get the spring back on over the catch? I still can't believe they didn't put the same size end on the replacement cable. The end doesn't have anthing to do with the fraying. I HATE ENGINEERS!

Daniel

Danandme: When I replaced the cable assembly on my '96, I used a nut driver slipped over the end of the spring to lever it back until it would slip over to the catch. Good luck.

I used needle nosed vicegrips on the spring, but Jerry's nutdriver trick sounds good. Remember if it's easy to get the spring on then it's in the wrong place. #ad

I know it's a little late now, since it's being recalled. I finally looped a piece of baling wire around the spring tab and the other end through a hole in the front above the radiator. I then twisted it tight until it was in position and dropped it on the ear. I jumped for joy #ad
Then I noticed my TPS bracket was broke #ad
