to make a long story short, my first feul pump went with 5,000 miles on the truck... now 2,000 miles later my second tranfer pump is gone... but its not. Today I got the new pump to replace this one and hooked it all up again but then I still got nothing! So I hooked the old pump up to a power supply and sure enough it worked... and I test lighted the power on the pump on the truck and nothing, I've checked all the relays and fuses... all good And now I need help... any ideas on what the problem is and what I should check out???? PLEASE HELP! Sorry this is so messy and rushed but I'm in a bind here!!!!

Brandon, the best I can tell from a 2001 service manual is there are two power supply wires that come out of the Cummins computer and go to the transfer pump. These two wires splice together before the pump in the loom. There is no fuse for the circuit as best as I can tell. The pin numbers for the ECM connector are #15 and #35 and they both are 18 gauge and are yellow with a white tracer in color. The ground wire is 18 gauge black with a white tracer and grounds back left of the engine below the transfer pump. Hope this helps.

Brandon, the black wire that goes to ground, take the bolt off and make sure you are down to bare metal and no paint is under there... ... ... Kevin

You should know that if you bump the ignition switch to the start position that you will have power to the pump for about 20 seconds. There is no constant power to the pump unless it is running. The ECM triggers the power to the pump. I would check the power wires and ground as noted before. Hopefully you do not have an ECM problem. There is lots of info if the search would be enabled.

Good luck.

Well thanks for the help guys... but I ran out of patience and just decided to tap into my trailer wiring harness to get some power to the pump and dropped it off at Dodge... additional update to follow, but thanks again
