P1688- interior injection pump fail

P0251- VP44 Fuel valve feed back circuit

P0253- Inject pump fuel valve open circuit

need help any ideas

Yep, a classic case of SVDS (Sudden VP44 Death Syndrome).

If that's the original, it lived a very long life.

Good luck,

John L.

Yes it is the original. Any recommendations on where to get one and which is the for the buck?
A lot of folks a partial to Midwest Fuel Injection (myself included) for a good overall value.

Many REALLY like Blue Chip Diesel and consider their offerings to be the Cadillac of remanufactured VP44's, but you'll pay dearly for them... over twice the current cost at MWFI.

The main difference between these two offerings is supposed to be MWFI only replaces the computers on the pumps when needed (i. e. : they discover that it's bad), whereas Blue Chip claims to replace every computer on every pump they sell with a brand new unit regardless of the condition.

Both of these web sites will help you figure out which pump you need.

If you do a Google search, you'll find dozens of additional sources who sell good remanufactured VP44's.

Best regards,

John L.

I've heard good and bad about a lot of places, but Blue Chip's pumps seem to really last a lot of miles. I've heard all good about their mechanical aspects, and the only complaints are against their costs and turnaround. It might be worth it if you're going to keep the truck another 10 years. Guy seems really nice..... At least be sure you get a genuine Bosch Reman if you are going to keep the truck. Otherwise, go with the cheapest.
