Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) help truck surging?

i have an 01 auto but it has a dtt trans in it. i i am going between 45 60 mph under light throttle the truck will surge i guess thats what to call it,the rpms will jump up about 100 or so then back down an so on until i give it less or more throttle. it does have the dtt noise filter on it but that did not help ,last night i reset the apps i thought that did the trick last night but today it was doin it again. its driving me crazy any one have any fixes for this? i was told having the ecm reflased will fix it?thanks

just had that problem. disconnect both batteries for at least 1 hour. next clean all the battery cables, and apply some dc4 compound , thats silacone grease. find all the ground points, if you dont hav a manual follow all the battery cables to where they attach, remove them and clean them real good. there are lots of grounds, some are hard to find without a manual. hope this helps.

I end up cleaning my grounds about once a year. That seems to keep the hunting in the trans and TQ converter to a minimum.

Sounds like a bad ground problem to me.
