Hi All,

Before Christmas I was going to drive my truck one last time before going on vacation..... When I tried to start it all I got was a puff of smoke from some wire that shorted out... . No wait to start or wouldn't even srank (starter that is). ... Lights worked, horn blew Just nothing w/ the key worked... . I took the truck to the shop yesterday (yes been awhile since it was started)... . they fixed whatever wires kept the wait to start light from lighting and the starter motor will turn the endine over quickly but the truck doesn't even try to fire up... ... . Anyu ideas?... . Maybe my fuel is gelled? How would I check?..... I bought the last fuel in Nov and it wasn't really cold here in VA I don't think... . The car is in the garage and the owner isn't familiar w/ diesels..... Unfortunately the truck is still relaticely new to me to?..... Is there some wire that has to have juice to allow the injector pump to work?... . If so where is it?... . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Andrew

I would guess it is your fuel shut-off solenoid. At the back of your injector pump is a solenoid with two wires connected to it, one blue, one black, I think. The blue one is the keyed wire, it shuts or opens the fuel shut-off depending on if it has power or not. Check those connections and trace the wires back if the connections are good, maybe one of those got fried also.
