Just changed my lift pump (truck died yesterday, showed no fuel pressure, when cranking and lift pump would run but was not as loud as usual).
Now with the new lift pump, the sound is still very quite, not as loud as the other. I know its pumping, because I was able to cycle the pump until I verified that the pump output was filling the fuel filter container. I then closed the lid on the container and cycled the pump another 6 or 7 times (I'm getting a solid 15 lbs on my pre and post filter fuel pressure gages during the running of the pump).
The truck will not start, just cranks. Should I check to see if I have fuel flow going into the VP?
I'm still worried that new pump is so quite when cycling.
I've got a pre (connected at output of fuel pump) filter guage and a post filter gauge (connected at input of VP).
I've done fuel filter changes before and only had to cycle the pump 3 or four time and it fired right up.
TIA
Jon
