I'm attempting to get the fuel pickup line off the tank under the bed. I can release the little clip and pull the hose a couple millimeters, but then it won't go further. I'm afraid to pull harder - don't want to break the plastic male end that the hose goes over.

Do I need to press the release clip, then twist the hose some direction before it will come off? Or just pull? If I have to pull, should it take a fair amount of pulling pressure before it just comes off?

I want to connect a new 3/8" hose to the male outlet fitting, that's why I'm asking.

Please help!

Steve

Push in on the connector, then push in the connector clips on both sides... you probably still have one side that is not pressed in completely. Once they are both pressed in completely pull and it comes off easily.

I got under the truck on the right side and reach over the frame so I could see both clips well. I used a pair of needle nose to press clips in,then had a friend pull the hose off from the left rear wheel well. Hope this helps

That was it. Two clips. Unfortunately, one was on top, the other on the underside. Impossible to get to without three hands and a monkey. So I ended up dropping the tank so I could get two hands in there, and a needlenose pliers. I could not turn the "quick disconnect" enough to get to it any other way and barely did it this way.

Luckily, I had planned ahead and only had about 3-4 gallons in the tank (just in case) and it was pretty easy to drop it and put it back up.

But I sure didn't like that "quick" disconnect so I cut it off and replaced it with new hose and hose clamps... . about 8 inches worth. So when I fully do the LP relocation, I can change to the new hose in a matter of minutes.

Thanks for the quick response DHayden, you kept me from breaking something!
