Block Heater Question

Code P0622 help/info.

Installed my VA 3. 2 and now I get a stumble/hesitation on level 3 (highest setting). This only happens when I floor it. It stumbles and blows black smoke for a moment then clears up and roars off without any other problems. Some say a pressure box is needed, others recommend the FASS system and I was also told the box/harness could be defective. Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

Chuck,

If you get a chance can you fill in your sig so we can see what your truck is. I had the VA3. 2 stacked with the EZ before I put the FASS on and I never had a stumble. The only thing I ever encountered with the VA is using the highest setting before the truck is up to operating temp can throw an ecm code. I think I would talk to the shop you bought it from and see about swapping it out for another one. If it clears up it was the box, if not you'll need to look at other things on your truck.

Sorry about that. It's an '04 305/555 6spd dually w/ 75,000 miles. I threw code p0622 as soon as the box was installed. I looked the code up but can't figure out what it means or relates to. I never use the box unless the truck is up to operating temps.

That 0622 code is strange, had not heard of the box setting that one from anyone else. I think I would try to swap it out with another one. Is the hesitation there on the OFF or 50% settings, assuming you have the three position switch???

The hesitation is only on level 3. The code is far out. I have no idea what it means. I emailed Mark at VA. Hopefully he can shed some light on the subject. Bpenrod, what level do you have the EZ set on. Due you change it or leave it at one constant setting? Thanks for the replys.

I run the EZ on Level 3 and the VA on the 50% setting for daily driving. On the Dyno that brought my little SO motor up to 322 rwhp and 632 rwtq. With just the EZ on L3 I was at 272 rwhp and 534 rwtq and with the EZ on L3 and the VA on 100% I put down 358 rwhp and 787 rwtq in 4th gear. I usually leave the EZ on L3 since it sits under the hood and requires removing the cover to change jumper settings. This summer I may bump it up but right now when I put the VA on 100% the EGT's climb almost as fast as the tach. Do you have gauges on your truck? Just wondering what the exhaust temps are when it;s turned up all the way.
