Hi, we're new to the forums.

Have a '01 with the 8" aluminum wheels.

Want to keep tire height about the same as the 265/75's but go more narrow... . (fo snow and less weight)

Now I know I could run 255/85's but really would rather not deal with recalibration,,,,etc.

the 235/85's maximum recommended rim width is something like 7 or 7. 5 inches...

So the question is: does anyone have the 235's on a 8 inch rim?... What would be the real world ramifications of running this setup?

Thank you

First of all, welcome to the TDR.

I think that 235's are too narrow for 8" wheels. Both BFGoodrich and Goodyear list 6-7" as recommended width's for these tires. I would'nt go much further than 1/2" more than a manufacturer recommends.

Get you a set of the chrome steel factory wheels and put the 235's on them for the winter and keep the 265's for the summer on the alloys.
