Got everything together and made sure keyway is in the 12:00 postion. I let it crank,3 times to let the air bleed out, but will not start. Does anyone have suggestion on what to do? Should i let it bleed out more? Thanks Rick

Starting

After changing out fuel lines I had to bump it um-teen times. Turn the key to the on position & just bump the starter to get lift pump to run. Try this 8-10 times to try to bleed the air out of the system. Also, you should loosen a couple of the injection lines to try to purge the air out there also. As soon as you see fuel stop. Tighten the fuel lines & then start turning it over with the pedal to the floor. Hopefully it will fire when the air is purged. Good luck!

Keep us posted... .

Hi guys . yes i cracked the fuel lines and when i started to see fuel i tighten then back. it did start ran rough for a couple of seconds but purred like a kitten. it has alot more power and its a little quieter. But thanks a lot everyone. With you guys behind me i felt confindent. on doing this..... The best 35. 00 i spent on membership. Rick

I call it the nervous getters; I did the repair right but something has to be wrong!

Glad to have you back up and running. How did you like replacing the VP44? Maybe add a few lines for the uninformed. Mike

It was a piece of cake... I took all the fuel lines 2 bundle of 3. #6 was a little hard but if you get a 19mm stubby wrench,it makes it alot easier. I got a mirror to get the keyway at 12:00 or look at the line on the gear as to be at 7:00,then you will know that the keyway will be at 12:00. I used a regular steering wheel puller,it worked great. The bolts on the injection pump were easy to get at. When i installed it i put a little oil around the o-ring on the pump and it helped to go in. Thanks guys again. Rick
