Cummins 855 Big Cam

quad cab & singleCabLB same frame?

well as some of you know i am putting a 4bt/nv4500 in my m715. the frame is blasted and painted and i am about to put it back together (this weekend- dec 6th)

i met a guy who is offering me a deal on a 1993 6bt with an auto that i almost cannot pass up.

my questions, can i swap my nv4500 onto the 6bt fairly easily?

what is the length of the 6bt (how much longer than my 4)

where is the exhaust output? the concern i have is the 4bt output is VERY close to the firewall. .

From the bellhousing to the outside of the fan. You need 38" to clear. I am not sure of the year of your 715. But some of them came with big AMC six cylinders in them. If yours was made for them. You might be close to having enough room.

All the parts from the 4BT will fit the 6BT. So the swap on that aspec wouldn't be any problem.

The exhaust is in the middle of the engine. With the longer engine the exhaust pipe would be farther away from the firewall. If you can get a look under the hood of a first gen. It isn't that much different from a jeep firewall.

Here is a pic of my exhaust side of a 1st gen truck. I couldn't get anything of value on the oil pan. If you want the full size image of this pic send me a pm.
