Help with a PeterBuilt

Does anyone know of a good shop or mechanic for a large truck? The truck is a Peterbuilt, I think the model number is “357”



I am looking for a mechanic or company that would be able to go to the truck and do the work there, in our shop, and ASAP.



The problem is in the rear end; I think the gear splitter went out. We have used Caterpillar before, but their work was sub-par.



If anyone has any recommendations for this please let me know.



The truck is located in Cripple Creek Colorado (about 40 miles west of Colorado Springs)

Is it the power divider on the front, rear differential itself, or did someone blow the ring gear on it? I wish I could remember for sure the power flow through the power divder. Depending on what and where the damage is (IF my thinking is correct), it MAY be possible to drive it. It's been a while since I drove a truck with a manual lock-out switch on the dash. Ours aren't on the Macks we run.



IF it is possible, you could pull the axle shafts, cap the openings to keep the oil in, and drive there. Like I said, it has been a while.



You will want to find out the model and serial #s of the truck. The Pete dealer should be able to find out what info is needed, assuming it is all original.
