I am getting ready to install my air system and pick up the needed parts, the system will run my rear air bags, air horns, ARB locker, and fill tires. can some of you who have done this before (my first time) review the diagrahm that I have attched and give me some advise and or pointers I already have most the parts not to worried about parts but just want some other eyes to review my plumbing.

Thanks,

BBD

BBD,

A couple of improvements I could suggest:

  • One end of your electrical circuit should be +12V instead of ground. ;) You'll probably want it on the switched "ACC" power, but I'd include a separate switch inline as well, to be able to shut off a compressor that runs continuously in the event of a leak.
  • A manual inflation valve for the tank is nice, too, in case of compressor failure.
  • A relief valve.
  • A drain cock on the tank.
  • If you use 1/4" hose to your air horns (Hadleys come prep'd for this), put the solenoid at the upstream side of that, instead of right at the horn. That puts less stress on the plastic hose, and the smaller part of the system that stays pressurized all the time, the less chance of leaks.
  • There are pros and cons on the solenoid distance from the horns--instant response, vs. that nice buildup of the sound.

None of these suggestions are absolutely necessary (OK, maybe the +12V)--just suggestions.

Thanks Tim, I don't know what the deal is ? I hosted it at Comcast who knows.

BobV: its a electric compressor.

Mark thanks for the great advise you must have got a look at before Tim got a hold of it :) I would have been wondering why it didn't work with out power :)

agree 100% with Mark, might add quick diconnects front and rear bumper [center area] for quick hose hook ups v/s dragging hose around painted body
