help with brake job

Today i took a sick day to do a much over due brake job on my truck. I got some new rotors and the rotor and the hub are a seperate unit. I hammered out all the old wheel studs and this seperated the rotor and the hub. The problem i am having is putting the old studs back into the hub and new rotor. I have tried a couple things using my impact put some washers on the stud then the nut and tightened it to try to get it to seat. I even put the hub and rotor on the truck then put the tire on thinking this may pull it together more evenly. Both methods have left the studs about 1/8 inch from seating. any ideas??

When I tore apart a '90 to replace the rotors, I could have sworn that I just drove the studs back in with a hammer. However, I had the hub and rotor off the truck and in a vice. We also repacked the wheel bearnings. I am sorry I can't remeber more to help you.

Tried to drive in with a hammer but finally gave up and took everything to a shop and had them pressed in for $20

for future reference though some trial and error here is what worked for me. I tried the regular beating on the hub with it on the work bench and the studs got close but seemed to seperatate the hub and the rotor a bit. What i did find that worked was set the wheel down on the ground and with the hub and rotor sitting in the wheel facing down hammer the hell out of the studs trying to be carefull and only hit the studs LOL. I made sure and put the one directly opposite in next so as to pull the thing together more uniform.

I started them with a hammer and old hammer handle (one without a head on it) then pulled them through with the lug nuts and tires on the truck. However, you will need to retorque the lug nuts. Don't want them that tight. I actually left them that tight and went to a parking lot to make some tight turns to ensure they were in all the way before retorqueing them.
