I'm going to be helping a friend put new rotors and pads on his 97 4x4 dodge ctd this weekend and was wondering if there is anything special I should know about before we start. Any help would sure be nice, thanks in advance.

Make sure the caliper mounting pins are clean and polished. Then lube them with a silicone grease. I use SilGlide from NAPA. The slides on the caliper mounts should be filed smoother and lubed also. The biggest problem with permature brake wear on these trucks is sticking calipers so the outside pad drags.

rotors

:p you take four bolts out of the back of the hub , remove large axle nut , and rotor wheel brg assembly will come off , than seperate brg from rotor;) :D

???

I guess my 2000 must be different. The rotor is separate from the hub. I didn't have to mess with the nut. :)

Not sure but I guess the 3500 is different what with the big hunkin' hubs.

With my 3/4" drive, I did have the socket of course. I was thinking of those really big nuts on the old style closed knuckle hugs.
