thanks for the info. im not real good at this stuff so i still have a question. first, where is the 50 prong connector? i will clean the battery cables and terminals, then the pcm/ecm on the firewall. dialectric grease?? guess i can get that at any auto parts store? i really appreciate all of the helpful information.

The 50 prong connector is on the drivers side of the engine below the fuel filter canister mounted to the ecm. Make sure the batteries are disconnected before pulling the plug off. There is one long small 4 or 6 millimeter bolt holding it on. Unscrew the bolt until it is loose. The bolt stays with the block. Then carefully pull the connector off. If you have a compressor, blow the pins clean then take a tooth pick and install a small amount of dielectric grease on each pin. Then be careful when putting the block back on. The pins are very small and can bend easy. ( get dielectric grease at any auto parts store ). do the same to the connectors behind the air box. Then you can reconnect the batteries. After I did everything the No- bu5 went away and all of gauges started working again. I had to start and stop the engine several times before all problems went away. The no-bu5 on the dash could be almost anything to do with a bad connection either under the hood or behind the gauges. I'm not a electrical guy but found this info on TDR. good luck.
