help with edge ez

This is my first post,my first diesel,and i need some help. I've purchased an edge ez second hand being told it would probably fit my 2001 which it will not. It's marked 1998. 5 to 2000. My truck was built in Feb. 2000 and the instructions name some differences on the 2001 but mainly the way the waste gate is made with a solid tube. The problem is that the MAP plug is different, on the truck its a flat 3 prong simular to the data plug but smaller, the edge ones are in a triangle form. does any one know if I can get adapter plugs for this application, and what about the boost elbow for the waste gate? Can I make this one work? Have i bought something I can't use? Help!!need advise.

I haven't personally experienced it, but I remember seeing that people have contacted Edge directly to get the correct connector, and I'm sure they could tell you of any other possible differences between the box designed for your truck (I think the EZ's are the same other than the connector)

P. S. My manual trans truck has the boost elbow and rubber line for wastegate actuation, but there are several ways to modify your setup (turnbuckle, . 22 shell, more?)

Thanks for the info, it makes me fill better. I looked at the web site for Edge. I was able to review the instruction for the hardline wastegate installation looks pretty simple. I'll give those guys a call. Thanks again!!

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Hopefully, the search feature will up and running (maybe it's now up and running, haven't checked). You will be surprised at this sites data base. If someone has not done it, it probably can't be done. You are going to enjoy the EZ box, I wouldn't trade mine !!!

You have an auto so you will have to either use the turnbuckle method, or the . 22 shell method to wastgate the HY35 turbo that you have.

I installed a Comp box on my '99 last weekend. It came with an adapter to convert from the triangle shaped plug to the 3 flat prong deal. I didn't need to use it. If Edge is going to charge you for the adapter, or if you just want me to send you mine, let me know. I'll stick it in the mail.

I have a Edge EZ for a 2001 that I sold, if you can't get an adapter I would be willing to trade because I just bought a 2000. My box is about 1 year old with about 10k on it cant find boost elbo but I dont need it anyway still have original box and recipt

Dave,the adapter is for the data link,the Map sensor is the problem,the data link is the same on 2000-2001,its flat 3 prong,by the lift pump,the 98. 5-99 have a grey triangular connector by the PS pump. The 98. 5-00 EZ has the adapter so the same EZ will work from 98. 5-00,the 01 has a flat 3 map connector,the 98. 5-00 has triangular conector,this is the problem,Im not 100% sure,but i dont think there are adapters for that map plug,if there were there would only be one EZ to fit all years,but they still have 3 separate ones for 98-00,01,and 02. You may have to sell it,and buy an 01 EZ,or trade it.
