well I've got all the parts and ready to do it. I just thought I was missing something what happens if the water in fuel sensor is unpluged. Will this make a MIL light come on or worse derate the truck. Do I need a resistor to stop one or more of these to happen.

Nothing happens, if I remember right, you have to unplug the WIF and heater. I just left my hanging, but I would like to cover them. Just haven't taken care of it yet. It wont de-rate, throw codes or turn on warning lights if you leave it unplugged though.

Have fun getting the old assembly out. I took me forever to remove that thing. I think I pulled it out between the frame and wheel liner up front. It used a lot of cuss words and persuasion though.

It might work easer to take the time and remove the intake horn and pipe. That will give you more access during the install too. Make sure you disconnect all the wires and fuel lines from the old unit before you start jerking that thing around. I forgot one fuel line and twisted it pretty good.

TS Sorry totally off topic but why don't you like your fca mod. I'm about to do mine.

I followed the Relentless site to the T. Maybe even more, I sanded my new cuts with 1500 grit (even after using 800 grit) to make sure the little piston didnt stick. It slid in very easy and came back out with no effort. When I started the truck it ran extremely rough and sounded like a dying 12v. I jumped in the truck, saw the engine light on and started messing with the timing to get rid of the loud knocking. I got several codes, 0251,0088(total guess of the top of my head, Im not by my truck to look). It finally started running normal after 10 min. My engine light finally went off several days later, which is good because its not continuing to throw the codes. Right now its still in and running fine, but im really nervous that its going to leave me stranded. I think Im going to by a new one this week for a spare. Im willing to run this for a while, but I really need to get a rail pressure gauge to check everything.

Im 50/50 about this mod.
