Help with install of SRT10 pillar w/DiPricol EGT

Anyone out there have the SRT 10 pillar with DiPricol EGT. I plan on installing mine soon and would like to know any tips or hints before I go to work drilling holes in my new truck. I tried a search and did not really find what I was looking for. Thanks for all your help.

I did mine with the truck running. A lot of guys take the manifold off and do it. My placement was on a flat spot on the top side of the manifold. First, I had someone cover about 95% of the tailpiple with a 2x6 to create some backpressure. Drilled a little ways, and kept dipping the drillbit in grease. I'd drill, clean bit, regrease, over and over until I broke through. Then with the engine stopped, I tapped it. Used a little grease on the tap, then used a small magnet to feel around inside the manifold for any shavings. Put the prob in, fired it up. No problems in the 15K miles since them. I routed my hoses and wires through a plastic plate that covers the hole where the clutch assembly would be if I had a 6spd.

not a pricol gauge, but when i drilled & tap'd for my pyro, i did the drilling with the engine running just above the turbo, towards the back side [from 4-5-6]. for the tapping, i did it with the truck shut down with a greased tap, cleaned things up, inserted the pyro into the manifold and fired her up. no problems as of yet... if you drill where i did mine, a right angle drill comes in real handy [i used a right angle adapter]

Make sure you wear eye protection if you do it while it's running. I ended up with that crap in my ears, hair and one spot I hadn't looked at in years.

Did you guys transfer over the little strip that sits against the window. Ordered mine from genos and didn't come with that strip. Went to take the oem one off and there is a little lip that it sits on. NO lip on the srt-10 pillar though. Lee.

I would like to error on the safe side by taking off the turbo.

Does anyone have the torque specs for the bolts?

my 04 doesn't have that strip against the windshield. i remember my 03 having one though...

I just recieved my gagues last night. They are Dipricol EGT and boost. I have a question regarding the wiring of the gague.

Where do all of these electrical connections go. I have a black and white wire that goes into the harness. I've also got 2 black wires coming off the light.



Any help would be appreciated.

Not_Agn - I did transfer the little rubber strip from the original stock pillar to the SRT-10 pillar. Just be real careful when detaching the original little tabs that seem to be glued on. There's really nothing you can do but to pry them off as cleanly as possible. The strip can then be slid onto the new SRT-10 pillar. I didn't attempts to glue it on and it's held fine for the 4 months I've had my gauges installed.



Note on routing wires since you have the 6spd. I routed mine through the rubber boot that already has about 100 wires running through it. They're all pulled together into one bunch so just be careful and cut both sides of the boot and make a little slit for the guage wires. It's a double-boot and that's why you need to cut on both inside and out. I have bigger hands than some and found it extremely hard to reach the boot from the top of the engine bay so I pulled the front left wheel well liner and life was much easier.

Hot glue and some very small quick clamps work great in reattaching the rubber strip to the SRT-10 pillar. I just glued the ends where it curves around, the rest was snug enough.

I have a 6 speed and ran all my cables through the grommet with the hood release cable going through it. I think it was a little up and to the right of the big cable (it has a thick black cable ¼" or so in diameter running through it). I thought it would be easier than the big cable.
