Ok Fellas I Hooked Up The Factorty Wire Harness For The Brake Controller And Was Goin On A Trip. . The Lights On The Trailer Need To Be Rewired In The Process Of Do This I Discovered That The Left Turn Or Left Brake Dont Work In The Factory Harness At The Bumper. . Tried To Chase It Down But Couldnt Find It But The Lights On The Truck Work. . so Was On My Way On The Trip And That Darn "lamp Out" Light And Buzz Keep Dinging And Flashing. . It Didnt Do It In Any Rythem Or Set Amount Of Time. So I Think I Have A Short Or Something Goin On. . Than Just Tonight Was Using It Again And Only The "lamp Out" Light Come On When I Used The Brakes And No Dinger?? Im Not Sure Where To Start Or How The System Works But I Have No Lights Out On The Truck,, I Have Checked It About A Dozen Times And Cant Find One. . If Someone Can Tell Me Where The Dinger Is I Could Disconnect It To Get This 7 Hour Trip Over Than Work On It When I Get Home. . btw Its A 03 2500 Qc. . Thanks I Have Used Your Advise Before And Im Lookin For Some Good Advise Once Again??thanks Robert

My lamp out light did some funny on and off stuff and finally stayed on.

I turned the four-way flashers on, park lights, and head lights. All worked.

Turns out it was a brake light. Have someone step on the brakes while you check.

Hope this helps.

From what I can tell there is a problem with the lamp out circuit on most trucks... I own 3 and my son has one... that makes 4 and they will turn on the lamp out light at will... . 01, 04, 04. 5, 05. . All the trucks have the same problem... the lamp out circuit lights with or without a trailer and there is no burnt out light... .

We go out... open the head lights and tail lights... unplug the bulb, and plug it back in 2 or 3 times... . then after a few starts the lamp out light goes out... and alls well for another 30 or 40 K miles... .

when my lamp out flashed. the factory rear brake bulbs connectors were made of plastic, melted and not allowing good contact all the time. aftermarket bulbs glass no problem since.

When mine started actring up I took both back lights apart, cleaned everything and greased all the connections and put it back together. That was last summer and it has been fine ever since.

I don't know what to tell you except that I just got finished buying/installing a new rear wiring harness due to a short that set a "Lamp out" light. Nearly $600 in tow bills and $600 for the new harness from the dealer. Seems a short in my trailer connector caused the harness to melt down before blowing all the rear light and trailer fuses. Anyway when the smoke cleared I had a Lamp Out message. Better look for short circuits anywhere you can think of. By the way, when you loose brake lights, you can't get the POS out of park. Any chance your brake controller has a short? Any blown fuses?

Sorry no help from this post.
