So I am finally going to be bombing some more after a long overdue and I need help in deciding what turbo and injectors to go with. All the mods are currently in my signature and I will continue to be doing very little towing with the rig. I mostly take it off-road and it is my daily driver so I want some more street performance as well to keep the ricers off my back.

The choices for turbos I am looking at are the basic B1 or any of the HTB2s from High Tech Turbo. Currently I am leaning towards the HTB2s with the 62 and 64mm compressors but am wondering if the 64mm might be too big a wheel for what I am going to be running.

I will be bumping the timing to 15-16* when all the new parts go in and as for injectors I will be getting a brand new set of EDMs that supposedly are similar to 370s but have a more matched spray for the pistons.

So what do you guys think? I need help with this soon as I will be making my purchase next week so give me some opinions on what would probably be best.

Thanks much!

Joe

I posted a very simular question a couple of hours ago.

Our trucks are both '98 12v's with #10 plates & gsk kits.

I'm looking at the BD super B for $1008 shipped, Mr. Piers suggested the B1-2 for me with some towing in mind. What injectors are you looking at?

I don't want to go wth basic 370s due to their improper spray pattern for my current stock pistons. So I am looking into a set of EDM'd 215s. I will be using my original 215s as cores and will be installing just the EDM'd tips on them to get more flow. From what I have heard these injectors will be very similar in power to basic 370s but should be a lot less smokey since the spray pattern will be optimal for my piston bowl.

I think I have decided on the turbo..... after a little more research I will probably be going with High Tech Turbo's HTB2 with the 62mm wheel and 14cm2 WG turbine housing. I would go with the 64mm wheel HTB2 but I think that size of compressor will be just a tad too big for my fueling. Besides, HTT states that with the HTB2/62 if later on I get more fueling and decide to go to a bigger compressor, they will upgrade my current HTB2 to a 64mm compressor. So that is a win win situation for me IMO. Good people down there @ HTT.

Still looking around for other options, though and would appreciate any advice or experience anyone has with HTB2 turbos or EDM'd injectors.

Thanks, Joe

I still have my htb2 62/14 for sale. Sold the truck to my father. It has less than 3k miles and is perfect. Also have downpipe, clamp, bhaf and outerwears sock. I also have a set of Lenny's stage 4,s with the same mileage. Killer injectors. Pm me if interested, might be able to save you a little bit.

I said before lmk on those injectors. I'll try PM.

Good luck getting a B-1. Piers told me they were on backorder for a minimum of a month. I decided to go with a Super 40. Haven't gotten it installed yet.

I am probably going to be picking up my new HTB2/62 this friday I am hoping. Injectors as well. I like the pricing on the HTB2 as well as the interchangability. :D
