Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Help with NV4500

I am needing to either get my nv4500 rebuilt or get a remanufactured one. I may even convert to a nv5600 or can you put the new merc. 6 speed in a 98. 5 24 valve? I am in central NC.

I did the 5600 conversion to my 98. 5 2500 had to change the clutch and flywheel got the kit 4x4 connection ???? it was well packaged and held up well. I don,t think I would spend the money unless you are going to keep the truck.

I would have it rebuilt with the fully-splined mainshaft to cure the 5th gear issue. I have a 5600, just haven't got around to doing the conversion, my 4500 is holding up so far

Enterprise and Blumenthal do some good transmission work! I would say check with Olee but i know he's coverd up! Theres alot of good shops around! I've got a buddy that dose trannys at empire dodge in wilkesboro. If you need more help pm me
