help with rear brake lights not working

my truck has no rear brake lights, it also will not power up the brake lights for my trailer as well, hazard lights and turn signals work fine so its not the bulbs, the third brake light comes on, so I don't think its the pedal switch, fuses look fine too, any idea on what else I should check???

There should be a trailer light relay in the PDC, if that is ok it may be a TIPM trip from overload. I have read of people having this happen on the 06, if that is the problem it will have to be reset by dealer I believe. bg

BG is correct... but as I remember reading there is an update where the dealer reprograms the TIPM to allow it to for higher spike's of current to prevent it from tripping later... Maybe that info came from Sag2... .

We had problems with an 08 5500 C&C but its been a while. . and I'm getting older and more forgetful...

The post above are correct. I had the same problem and had the dealer reprogram my truck to allow for extra power draw associated to trailers. Not sure why its an issue on my 06 ... guess we are lucky that way. Get the dealer to fix it and you wont have any more issues.
