I can not figure out how to load the downloads into my new Smarty. I must be retarded because I have been sitting in front of the computer for 2 hours reading the the MADS site and I must be missing something. I have down loaded the driver and the USB program, but I can't figure out what to do next to load the Smarty. I have even downloaded the programs to my hard drive.

I need to do this because the Smarty I just got says it doesn't have the SW for my truck. It says it needs the 2003 stuff. I think if I get this working it will solve my problem. My vendor is already closed and I want to get this running. I wonder if I just need a different programer.

Thanks,

Aaron

Ok I figured how to unzip the files and start the download. Does each program have all 10 levels or do I need to update all 4 programs to get all the levels of reduced torque management levels? Still a little confussed on what the downloads actually replace.

Thanks,

Aaron

here ya go and if this don't help just send me your smarty and i will update it for you.

To be able to update your smarty ecm tuner. Please follow these guidelines.

Start by right clicking on your desktop to create a new folder. Rename the new folder smarty.

You will need to download the driver to the smarty folder. Save the driver to the smarty folder http://www.madselectronics.com/downl...DM_2.00.00.zip

You will need the smarty usb. exe This program allows you to update the smarty. Save this to the smart folder LINKS TO EXECUTABLE FILES NOT ALLOWED

The driver and the software programs need to be extracted into the smarty folder using THIS extraction tool. LINKS TO EXECUTABLE FILES NOT ALLOWED?download

Here are the directions for installing the driver http://www.madselectronics.com/downl...stallation.pdf

Once you have the driver installed you can use the smarty usb. exe program to update the smarty software. Click on the smarty icon. Press run. You will now see a seen button. Before you hit the send button you need to load a program into the smarty usb. exe. Click on file. Open , look in the smarty folder to find the smte file to load into your smarty.

Load the file and press run. It will take about 40 minutes to update your smarty.

Got this from a search for you. It helped me.

Each download has all 10 levels but only for the torque management, turbo, or injector preference you choose at the time.

For example, if you choose the stock turbo, stock injector software w/mild torque management, all 10 levels will be at that "setting".

In order for you to try moderate torque management instead, for example, you would need to download that software which takes another 40 minutes.

In this respect, Smarty is kinda hard to use, but its is very good software and it works extremely well.

All I can tell you is to keep experimenting and trying new softwares until you find one that you really like...

I'm using stock turbo, stock injectors, mild torque management, LEVEL 1.

Hope this helps,

Louis

Thanks guys, I am trying the aftermarket turbo and injector program on mild, but I think I will download the reduced TM program tonight. I am happy with it so far.
