I'm trying to replace the condesor on the my truck and dodge in thier infinite wisdom decided to use this damned thing called a spring lock connector, well, I can't get the damned thing off of there. Yes, I bought the cheesy tool to remove it, but the line seems to be frozen into it. I've cut the line to the condsensor off, so that the old condensor is out of the way.

Is there a special trick, like standing on one leg with your eyes crossed and breathing out your mouth to get this thing off? Or is this just dodges way of making you buy a whole new AC system throughout because you can't get the connections loose?

What brand of tool? maybe the cheesy part is what the trouble is because those are suppose to just push in to spread the spring then you just pull straight out. I know sometimes the O rings will stick but not so bad you cant work the fitting loose.

I finally got it apart last night, the tool worked fine, it popped the other end of just like it should have, the end I was having trouble with was extremely stuck on, I ended up using a hack saw and cutting carefully vertically across the outside to get it removed. Finally got everything back together with new o-rings last night and went to start the evacuation process and found out that I need to pickup an adapter for my vacuum pump, so that's where it stands.
